Celtic have reached an agreement with Augsburg for the transfer of midfielder Arne Engels.
The deal was finalised today by Celtic's CEO Michael Nicholson and Augsburg's Michael Ströll, according to Sky Germany.
Celtic will pay a guaranteed fee of €13million (£10.9m) for the 20-year-old talent, who has been a top target for manager Brendan Rodgers.
In addition to what will be a record transfer fee paid by Celtic, Augsburg will also retain a 20% sell-on clause, ensuring they benefit from any future sale of the player.
Engels, who is expected to pen a four-year contract, will undergo his medical on Friday, marking the final step before he officially joins the Scottish Premiership giants.
This deal is seen as a win for all parties involved, as Celtic strengthens its midfield options with a promising young player who has already caught the eye of scouts across Europe. While the Bundesliga side boost their own finances.
Celtic have been eager to further bolster their squad after they earned £25m+ for Matt O'Riley earlier this week.
The Hoops have signed Viljami Sinisalo, Adam Idah, Paulo Bernardo, Kasper Schmeichel and Alex Valle so far during the summer transfer window.
