An Ibrox hero was spotted at a Rangers pub in Glasgow ahead of the Celtic v Rangers game.

Derek Ferguson visited Oswald's Bar in the city centre as part of a special evening the staff hosted.

The former midfielder played for the Gers as his first senior club between 1983 and 1990, and he made his competitive debut at the age of 16.

Staff at Oswald's said they had a 'fantastic' evening where Derek shared tales of his life and career, adding 'he is certainly one of our own'.

They shared photos of the festivities which showed a full house of Rangers fans there to meet and greet the former Ibrox star.

It comes ahead of the first showdown of the season where Celtic hosted Rangers at Celtic Park and won 3-0 thanks to goals from Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi and Callum McGregor.
