How we rated Rangers' players as they lost comprehensively at Celtic Park for the fifth time on the spin.

Jack Butland: Poor for Celtic's first two goals. The first was straight at the big Englishman while the second was a serious error where he found himself wrongly positioned and showing too much space to Kyogo. Had no chance with Callum McGregor's third which deflected wickedly off Dujon Sterling's boot. 4

James Tavernier: Looks a diminished figure, haunted by the spectre of failure in these derbies. Daizen Maeda has his number and seeing the Japanese run the Rangers captain ragged has become an expected part of the fare on offer. A better second half but the first was abysmal. 4

Jefte: The 20-year-old has plenty to offer but struggled today as Celtic looked to exploit his defensive inexperience. Wasn't helped by a harsh booking early in the game. 5

John Souttar: Arguably Rangers' best player. Brought the ball out from the back well on a couple of occasions and his defending was generally sound. 6

Robin Propper: A mediocre display from the experienced Dutchman. An unlucky slip stopped him from preventing the first goal but the second was a showcase for bad defending as he backed off Kyogo, giving the Japanese all the time in the world to place his shot. Came off with a knock. 5

Connor Barron: Tried hard but looked a bit lost at times. Used the ball reasonably well as always but never looked capable of grabbing control. 6

Dujon Sterling: Put himself about but Celtic's midfield three were always a step ahead. Was wasteful in possession on a couple of occasions. 6

Mohamed Diomande: Was instructed to stop Callum McGregor from controlling the game and given the Celtic captain was arguably man of the match it's fair to say the plan didn't work. Looked off the pace from the get-go and didn't offer anywhere near enough given his talent. Subbed with half an hour to go. 5

Vaclav Cerny: Struggled to make an impact on the game and got little change out of Greg Taylor. It's early days in his Rangers career but will have to offer more in the big games if he's to be considered a good signing. 4

Rabbi Matondo: Went off with a hamstring injury after 38 minutes but offered little offensively while struggling to contain Alistair Johnston. It was Matondo who let the Canadian run off him and create the opening goal for Maeda.  3

Cyriel Dessers: The Nigerian has started the season well but this was a very, very bad day at the office. He missed chances he should have been doing better with and general link-up play was loose. Dessers remains a conundrum of a player who can't be relied upon in big moments. 4

Subs

Ross McCausland: On for Matondo towards the end of the first half. Plenty of effort but little quality produced in the final third. 4

Tom Lawrence: Came on to provide a spark in the last 30 minutes and looked as bright as anyone in blue on the day. 4

Leon Balogun: Shored things up for the final ten minutes. 4

Niko Raskin: Celment will have been delighted to get some minutes in his legs. 2

Hamza Igamane: Thrown into the fray for a first appearance but barely saw the ball. 2
