James Forrest added another milestone to his ever-impressive Celtic career statistics against Rangers earlier this month when he made his 500th appearance for the club.
In doing so, the Celtic youth academy graduate joins the likes of Scott Brown, Roy Aitken, Billy McNeill and Paul McStay with a half-century of Celtic appearances, and, even at 33 years old, shows little signs of slowing down any time soon.
In 2019, Forrest published his official biography with the club, Homegrown Hero, within which he told his own Celtic story alongside the thoughts and stories of those who influenced him most along the way.
From his brother Alan to former captain Brown, close friend Tom Rogic and Lisbon Lion Bobby Lennox, here are seven great timeless quotes about Celtic's latest 500-club inductee.
Alan Forrest
"My mum and dad have done everything for us, they've supported us and James has applied himself throughout his life… For me, his success is totally deserved and I'm proud of him. He's a good guy."
Martin Miller (former youth coach)
"James Forrest is a perfect example of the talent that whispers. That suits him down to the ground in everything he does."
John Kennedy
"James is happy, he comes from a good family, he enjoys being at his work every day, being around his teammates, playing in the games and doing what he does best for the team."
Scott Brown
"It doesn't matter how big a star he is now, or how big a star he might still become, he's still the same James Forrest he was when he came through all those years ago."
Bobby Lennox
"James is a great player, and while it's a different game altogether today, he'd have been good for a spot in our team. I'm not sure how wee Jinky would have felt about that, mind you, but wee Jamesy could have given him a run for his money."
Tom Rogic
"When I look back at my time at the club, James' goal against Shakhter Karagandy is one that really stands out as special. And I include my own goals in that!"
Kieran Tierney
"When I was coming through at Celtic, every player's idol in the youth academy was James Forrest, because he'd already done what we wanted to do. Not only that, he's it all with humbleness and humility."
