Rangers outcast Ianis Hagi has been shining for the B team while he remains cut off from the senior squad.

The 25-year-old has not featured for first team this season after failing to secure a move away in the summer.

Hagi spent last season on loan at La Liga side Alaves before returning to Rangers ahead of pre-season.

The Romanian international has since been dropped to the B team after reportedly being told he was not part of Philippe Clement’s plans at Ibrox and was free to leave the club.

Hagi was named in the starting lineup for a B team match with Huddersfield Town on Tuesday at the Rangers Training Centre, scoring a sensational free kick and a 90th-minute winner to help secure a 3-2 victory.

The club’s ‘B’ team and academy account tweeted: “Rangers are awarded another free-kick on the edge of the Huddersfield box following a foul on Nsio. Hagi steps up and drills the strike into the top corner.”

He assisted Findlay Curtis's opening goal and scored the winner in the 90th minute to cement the win through a low, powerful curled drive.
