Ex-Rangers defender Danny Wilson has signed a short-term deal with Livingston until January 2025.

Wilson made history in 2009 when he became the youngest player to make a Champions League appearance for a Scottish club at the age of 17.

The 32-year-old came through the youth system at Ibrox before earning a Premier League move to Liverpool in 2010 on an initial £2 million deal.

He won the Scottish FWA and PFA Young Player of the Year awards in his debut season for Rangers, making 24 appearances before leaving for Anfield.

After failing to secure a first-team spot with the Reds, Wilson spent loan spells at Blackpool, Bristol City and Hearts, before making his transfer to Tynecastle permanent in 2013.

The centre-back spent another two seasons at Hearts, captaining the side to the Championship title before rejoining Rangers in 2015 on a free transfer.

In January 2018, Wilson joined Major League Soccer club Colorado Rapids, before returning to Scotland with a move to Queen’s Park at the start of this year.

He became a free agent in July after just six months at the Championship side, with the club confirming the defender had opted to trigger a break clause in his 18-month contract, citing “personal circumstances”.
