A father-and-son duo from Dumbarton have achieved karate success on the national stage.
Stuart Moss, 38, and his son Greyson, seven, both won honours at the recent Autumn Karate Jutsu Kai (KJK) National Championships in Kent.
Both are members of Broadmeadow Karate Jutsu Kai, a local group which runs out of the Meadow Centre.
Stuart, who is also the head instructor of the club, opened up on the background of the competition.
He said: "The group launched last June and this was the first time we competed at a tournament like this.
"Teams were present from England, Wales and Scotland.
"The categories that members of the club competed in were Kumite, Kickboxing and Kata.
"I won first place in the Senior Grade Kata round, while my son came second in the Kata category at U13s level for under 125cm and also placed third at the Low Grade U13s Kata."
The group currently has eight members between the ages of five and 70.
Stuart, who has been practising karate for 30 years, is keen for the club to expand.
He also opened up on the significance of the competition.
The 38-year-old continued: "It was my son's first competition and we were absolutely delighted with the outcome.
"I am really proud of him. Karate is so important for physical and mental fitness.
"I do it because I love it and I am keen to continue teaching it.
"Karate prepares you for life by teaching discipline and control."
