Brendan Rodgers has managed to make six changes to his Celtic line-up as they host Ross County at Parkhead this afternoon. 

Yet, the Celtic starting XI is still bursting with talent. That's a testament to the work done over the summer to ensure the squad was bolstered to give Rodgers and Co the best opportunity to be successful in every competition.

Paulo Bernardo, Adam Idah, James Forrest, Luke McCowan, Alex Valle, and Liam Scales all come into the team that drew with Club Brugge in UEFA Champions League action a few days earlier.

That means Auston Trusty, Greg Taylor, Reo Hatate, Kyogo Furuhashi, Nicolas Kuhn and Arne Engels drop to the substitutes bench.

"I think it's just giving a freshness to the team," Rodgers told BBC Scotland ahead of the Scottish Premiership clash.

"I trust the squad and today we want a lot of energy in the game. We don't want to be waiting on the game, we've got to go and create it. 

"For that, we will have players that can influence the game and will bring a nice energy.

"I think another aspect of where we've improved over the course of the summer, because you need it. You don't want the drop off if you go from Europe into the league or when you're in games. You might be playing in the league or the Champions League and you want to make changes to impact the game. 

"So, that's what the players have done really, really well. They come into the game, there's no drop off, the intensity is there, and they have that hunger to come in and do well."
