Philippe Clement has vowed "nothing is decided in December" as he responded to questions over how defining the festive fixture list could be for Rangers.

The Ibrox boss insists the season will not be won and lost this month as he cited Manchester City in his answer.

Clement - who watched his side win 1-0 against St Johnstone in Perth - mentioned a treble for Premier League giants after "everything was bad" in December as he offered optimism.

On BBC Sportsound, Clement said: "I'm not counting. I want the mentality from my players that they look to the next game and put all their energy into that and not start calculating or whatever.

"Nothing ever in a season is decided in December about the season.

"I think Manchester City a few years ago was a really good example because everybody didn't give them any chance in December and everything was bad, but they won a treble.

Meanwhile, Robin Propper suffered an injury issue at McDiarmid Park leading to the defender being withdrawn at the break.

Clement said: "Robin got a knock on his knee and struggled with that."
