With Rangers finding out the devastating news that right-back Neraysho Kasanwirjo could be sidelined for up to six months after rupturing ligaments in his knee whilst on international duty, the expectation is that they will look to bring in a reinforcement when the January transfer window opens.
Nils Koppen and those behind the scenes at Ibrox will undoubtedly have their targets to complement captain James Tavernier and Dujon Sterling, but one which has been suggested by several Rangers supporters was a loan return for Nathan Patterson from Everton.
Patterson, 23, left Rangers for the English Premier League in January 2022. He's made 51 appearances during that period, however it's taken until December 1 for him to make a senior outing this time around, coming on as a second half substitute with Everton already 4-0 down at Manchester United.
Injuries have plagued the defender, who missed Scotland's Euro 2024 campaign over the summer, but manager Sean Dyche was in no mood to talk about a transfer exit for the player when asked during a recent press conference.

“Who’s reporting?," he questioned. "Who? Tell me. Who? Name them. Oh online, okay, must be right then.
“Yeah, we will decide what happens with the players here.”
