Rangers manager Philippe Clement has expressed his desire to extend the contract of defender John Souttar.
The 28-year-old centre-back has emerged as a pivotal player in the Light Blues' defence, showcasing his resilience and skill after overcoming a series of injury setbacks.
Souttar's impressive performances have not only solidified his position at Rangers but have also caught the attention of Scotland national team boss Steve Clarke.
The defender played a crucial role in the recent UEFA Nations League double-header against Poland and Croatia, further establishing himself as a reliable figure in the international setup.
Clement has made it clear that he views Souttar as a key asset moving forward.
With summer recruit Robin Propper and the experienced Leon Balogun alternating in the line-up alongside the former Heart of Midlothian star, Souttar has consistently demonstrated his ability to lead the Rangers backline.

“[With John] it’s on the table and it’s progressed when things are arranged," Clement revealed on Tuesday.
"But that’s not the case yet. We will see what happens in the next couple of months. He still has a year and a half to go. But he knows I’m happy with his evolution and that shows in his play.
“He’s been our best defender this season, the most regular one in our team, and he has progressed really well. He has become stronger in his duels and his handling of the ball.
“We still see things that he can make better but we want to make them better together. I’m really happy with what he's been showing.”
